Our client is well-positioned to collaborate with, invest in, or potentially acquire companies that complement and enhance its current offering.

     

    Over the next year, the client is specifically targeting opportunities in the financial data, research, and insights space, focusing on both services and software solutions. The acquisition targets should have strong technological capabilities and unique content offerings that can be integrated into our client's existing platform. By doing so, our client aims to provide innovative new services and valuable insights to its global customer base.

     

    Market Position: Target companies should have a strong presence in the financial data, research, analytics, and insights industry, with a track record of success and proven growth potential.

     

    Technological Capabilities: Companies should possess cutting-edge technology or proprietary solutions, including data visualisation and analytics tools, that can be easily integrated into our client's platform, providing a competitive advantage in the market.

     

    Content Offerings: The ideal partner should have a unique, high-quality content portfolio that caters to multiple investment verticals and complements and enhances our client's existing services.

     

    Geographic Reach: Target companies should either have a global footprint or demonstrate potential for international expansion, aligning with our client's worldwide presence.

     

    Cultural Fit: Prospective partners or acquisition targets must share our client's commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth in diverse investment verticals.

     

  • Acquisition Criteria 

    Data, Research and Insights

    The investment focus is centred on financial data, content, research and insight that cater to the global investment community with a primary objective of providing decision making insights, insightful marketing or research content.

    Financial Parameters

    The target revenue range is an estimated 5 to 10 million (GBP). Ideally the company will profitable or to be in a position that is close to profitability with very low or no debt.

    Management Team

    The management team will be incentivised to stay and run the business and perform against a mutually agreed earn-out business case. The acquirer is looking to build and work with a strong management base.

    Integration & Structure

    The assessment of suitability will necessitate a comprehensive understanding of the full ownership structure, with a preference towards acquiring 100% of the shareholding. (typical structure example: 50% closing payment and a 50% performance related earn-out)

    Location & Reach

    The business should be situated in either the United Kingdom or Europe and should have a well-established network of clients. Target companies should either have a global footprint or demonstrate potential for international expansion, aligning with our client's worldwide presence.

     

    Building your deal

    Orb is a contract financial research organisation. Our role is limited to assessing the suitability of your company for acquisition. Upon completion of the assessment, you will be introduced directly to the acquiring organisation's legal corporate investment team to facilitate the negotiation process.
